Energy Studies for General Services Administration
Scope:
To perform a building energy study with the goal of improving energy conservation.
Project Description:
KMEA provided engineering and commissioning expertise to conduct scoping, testing, investigation, evaluation, analysis, calculations, recommendations, and report writing services for an energy study at the Schwartz Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, San Diego, California.
The purpose of this contract was to consider and incorporate existing energy studies and other engineering studies and recommendations for the facility. KMEA collected and reviewed the latest existing documentation, including sources such as existing recent energy studies, engineering reports, record drawings (specifically the mechanical and fan rooms), building operating plans, shop drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, control sequences, energy audits, utility rate structure, utility bill records, facility condition assessments, computerized maintenance management system information, equipment lists, etc.
KMEA also completed a visual inspection of the building envelope and determined the envelope’s condition and potential deficiencies that may affect the building performance.
