As Vice President of Environmental Operations for KMEA, Tim Heironimus is responsible for leadership and management of the company’s core operations in environmental site characterization and remediation, federal and state regulatory compliance, and biological resources consulting.
Tim’s professional experience of over 40 years includes a senior petroleum geologist post at Exxon Company USA in Denver, Colorado, and Midland, Texas; work as project and deputy program manager at Bechtel National Inc. in San Diego, California, and as project manager at Bechtel for construction projects at Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico. After joining KMEA in 2014, Tim has continued to apply his technical and managerial expertise in Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), underground storage tank investigations, geological and hydrogeological investigations, environmental remediation planning/construction, and federal and state environmental regulatory compliance for government and private clients.
A Virginia native and a long-time western United States transplant, Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science degree from Oregon State University, both in geology, and is a licensed professional geologist and a certified engineering geologist in the state of California. Tim is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Society of American Military Engineers, San Diego and Orange County, California, Posts.
